Where Do You Go When You Need More Strength?

In today’s world, we find things coming at us from all directions. Seemingly all at once. Not only can it stress us out, but it can also drain us of energy, both spiritually and physically; even mentally. Sometimes just thinking about one particular thing can pull the plug on any remaining energy we may have.

My soul melts from heaviness;

Strengthen me according to Your word.

Psalm 119:28

Oftentimes, this has happened to me. Just the thought of having to deal with bills or laundry that has been waiting to be dealt with; it is just too much. Other times it may be that I feel too drained to do my Bible study. Problems within the lives of my kids, go round and round in my head.

Trust in the Lord forever, For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.

Isaiah 26:4

Now one of my doctors wants me to go to physical therapy for the nerves in my neck; another doctor wants physical therapy for my right shoulder. Plus I am scheduled to have another nerve ablation (nerve burning) the beginning of September. Too much at once!

In the day when I cried out, You answered me And made me bold with strength in my soul.

Psalm 138:3

Even spiritually, the enemy gets elated when he sees us getting overloaded; whether it’s stress-related, family or job; he loves to see us wore out. Especially when it will affect our relationship with the Father. Most likely the enemy is the one responsible for attacking us.

My flesh and my heart fail;

But God is the strength of my heart

and my portion forever.

Psalm 73:26

Our bodies aren’t designed to sustain heavy loads in any area of our lives. Without support, areas will begin to break down and fall apart. That is why having a good relationship with God is so important. He is Omnipotent; all-powerful. He truly wants to sustain us.

The Lord is my strength and my shield;

My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;

Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,

And with my song, I will praise Him.

Psalm 28:7

~~~
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
It’s His strength that will get us through anything. Leaning on Him will allow us to stand for whatever battle we are facing. Cancer, His strength is perfect. Marital problems, His strength is sufficient. Death of a child, His arms are wide open. Whatever is causing us to feel weak, He is the answer.
The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior…God is my strength and power, And He makes my way perfect.
2 Samuel 22:3, 33
He is our Sustainer; our Strength and our Shield; our strong Tower. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. His Glory is revealed when we are helped by Him.
For this reason, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man…
Ephesians 3:14-16
The Holy Spirit is our helper through which the Father works. It’s through Him that the Father gives us His might; enabling us spiritually and physically to face life and the enemy of our souls. Through our spirit, the Holy Spirit encourages us to continually seek the Father’s face. He convicts us of sin, nudging us toward repentance; knowing that sin in our lives is a drain on us spiritually affecting every aspect of our lives.
For my life is spent with grief,
And my years with sighing;
My strength fails because of my iniquity,
And my bones waste away.
Psalm 31:10
~~~

But those who wait on the Lord

Shall renew their strength;

They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

They shall run and not be weary,

They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

The Holy Spirit does this because He knows how important it is for us to be continually walking in God’s strength. Daily, we are to seek Him. To sustain any relationship, daily communication is essential. We get that through His Word and through prayer; waiting on Him for guidance.

…that you may walk worthy of the Lord,

fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

strengthened with all might,

according to His glorious power,

for all patience and long-suffering with joy;

Colossians 1:10-11

Jesus said in His prayer to the Father, “Give us this day, our daily bread.” The bread, which is the Word; is food for our souls; to be sought after on a daily basis to sustain us in this world. Daily, our strength is renewed when we spend time in His Word and in prayer. He is our Portion forever!

Seek the Lord and His strength;

Seek His face evermore!

1 Chronicles 16:11

~~~
The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation;
He is my God, and I will praise Him
Exodus 15:2a
If we are to live victoriously, as God wants us to, and as He has provided everything for us to do so, we need to take hold of His strength and stand as sons and daughters of the Almighty God. Allowing His strength to flow through our spirits; enabling us to face living in this world and all that it throws our way. Praise Him and thank Him for the over-flowing, never-ending love that He has for us .
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all.
Both riches and honor come from You,
And You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand, it is to make great
And to give strength to all.
Now therefore, our God,
We thank You
And praise Your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29:11-13
Until next time, God Bless.
